Buoyancy & Platforms Figure 1 Illustrates a 4.5m x 4.5m platform with a 1.5m x 1.5m aperture in the centre for possible pump or lifting gear utility offering a total 4000kg of buoyancy or a suggested safe working buoyancy of 2000Kg. Figure 2 illustrates a 7.5m x 4.5m platform with a 4.5m x 1.5m aperture in the centre for possible double pump utility offering 6000kg of buoyancy or a suggested safe working buoyancy of 3000kg. Figure 3 illustrates the underside of a 6m x 6m platform that could be used for possibly leisure and recreational purposes or to support pumps, hoppers, generators, transformers etc. The platform offers 8000kg of buoyancy; however, a suggested safe working buoyancy would be approximately 6000kg. We would also like to advise that further information should be obtained prior to ordering such a platform, as wave motion, anchoring and weight displacement factors need to considered, together with the use of additional cross-bracing to strengthen such a large platform. |
